1-29-14: We have the most difficult weather here on the Big Island in recent memory. We have had about 3 inches of rain in Waikoloa Village in the last 4 days. It's been down to 60 at night and on 1-28-14 the high temp was about 71; we had rain all day. About 2 weeks ago a place on the E side of the Island had over 18 inches of rain in a couple of days.

The 'top of the hill', almost 14,000 feet up, had over 6 inches of snow with gusts of 120 mph and temp at 20 (it may have been colder). It's a long drive over twisting roads, the last 6 or so miles are unpaved.
